Education and Appointments:

Chang Hong’s research interests are in continental deformation, with an emphasis on sedimentary basin evolution and related tectonic history of mountain belts. Detailed field mapping, geochemistry, magnetostratigraphy and basin analysis are some of the methods he applies to study how crustal deformation is accommodated during orogenesis over a wide range of timescales since Cenozoic. Most of his works are positioned in and surround the Tibetan Plateau.
